How to Uncover Your Purpose and Passion

There is a questionnaire that I have posted on the old Sarah’s Tent website that people still find from time to time. The answers that many people write tell me immediately what kind of person they are, what means the most to them and what they are good yet. Yet amazingly … many will end their questionnaire with a simple statement, “I STILL don’t know who I am!”

As I “Illustrate You” by encouraging and teaching the magnificent gifts that God has placed inside of you, I look for resources that will be practical and insightful tools to help you rediscover your passion and purpose and to help you in rediscovering YOU.

My Journey

Shannon at age 5When I was a little girl, I remember asking an adult a question. This far down the road, I have no idea what I asked, but I do remember my response quite clearly – as well as the resolve that occurred from this experience.

Whatever the adult said to me, it was a stupid answer that made no sense, at least to me as a child, it made no sense and I thought that was stupid.

As I stared up at their face, completely puzzled by why they had given me such an off-the-wall answer, I remember thinking, “When I grow up, I’ll have the answer and know what the child is asking.”

And so it begins …

Whether you are an existing pastor’s wife, a pastor, a woman in ministry or a woman who just is seeking the best for her life, change is happening.

Change is inevitable. We begin with a certain idea of how something will turn out in our lives, and then change happens.  There are different stages to dreams and goals. The first is that you ‘try them on’ like you would a new dress.

First comes the decision about what it is that you want, then the search to where you will get it.  After you see it, you have to try it on and while in the dress, looking in the mirror, you imagine wearing it in public, or getting in and out of a car.
