MONEY Motivation
Make up your own version
of play money, including a wide variety of bills.
Give $ as earned rewards for learning Bible
verses, good behavior, kindness shown to others,
etc.
Penalize $ (Just like Sports Stars are
penalized) for misbehaving, talking out of turn,
disobedience, etc.
Purpose:
- Learn responsibility for handling money,
tithing, offering, etc.
- Be rewarded for participation. ($1 for
Bible, $1 for journal, $1 for writing in the
journal, $5 for bringing a visitor)
- Learn line of authority and consequence of
breaking the 'law'.
BIG REWARD:
Periodically hold an AUCTION of items either
donated or purchased with the money earned.
This can be added to church picnics or other
functions where the children's efforts are openly
rewarded. They can earn last minute bucks through
games, etc. (They love spending $1,000 on a
magnifying glass, or $500 on a stamp set, or $2500
on a treasure box ....)

Making Young VISITORS Feel
Welcome
Make your young visitor a part
of the group!
Don't tell anyone your visitors name - the class
has to GUESS their name!
Play a version of HANGMAN. You can make a
different picture - (such as a stick figure on a
pedestal like a statue.)
Your visitor gets to draw the figure. Under the
pedestal he or she draws a line for each letter of
their name. When a letter is guessed that is
wrong, the letter is written off to the side, and
a part of the stick figure is drawn (circle for
the head, stick for the body, one each for the
legs and arms, eyes, nose, mouth)
When a correct letter is guessed, the visitor
writes that letter in the space alotted for that
letter in their name.
The visitors love it when the class can't guess
their name, and the class will be sure to remember
their name AND the visitor will feel immediately
like a part of the group.

Creative
Learning
Divide
the children into 4 or 5 groups to prepare for the
lesson. Pick a well-known Bible story and have
the children present it in 4 or 5 different ways.
-
Group 1 (for instance) in one corner can create
hand puppets about the story from lunch sacks or
Popsicle sticks and miscellaneous craft
materials.
-
Group 2 in another corner may make a poster to
hang in the room highlighting the Bible
character or verse.
-
Group 3 in their corner may prepare a short skit
they write themselves reliving the Bible verses.
-
Group 4 in the last corner may be instructed to
build a flip book created of regular 8 ½ x 11
inch typing or copier paper to tell the story
using magic markers.
-
Group 5 (if you need another group) may sit at a
table in the center of the room and be
instructed to rewrite the Bible verses in their
own words for presentation.
Begin by leading the children
into the scriptures yourself so the story is told
in its proper form at the beginning. Then one by
one have the groups come forward to do their
creations. In between groups can be short breaks
like snack, taking offering, etc. Be prepared
with craft materials of all sorts and let the
children create!
